The name Hoyo de Monterrey or HDM was inspired by the rich, fertile tobacco plantation, that a man purchased in 1860, located on a river’s edge.
It sits in a low-lying position that is sought-after by most premium tobacco growers due to its concave terrain and rich soil of Vuelta Abajo, a very well known tobacco growing region.
This brand is unique in creaminess. Rich, complex and smooth notes most embody. Most notable in this brand are Epicure No.2, Double Coronas, Petit Robusto & Coronations.
The brand was named & founded by Jose Gener in 1865 in Cuba.
